Rudrani Sarma is a doctoral candidate in the Department of English at Rutgers University–New Brunswick specializing in long nineteenth-century Black literature from around the world. Her scholarship focuses on representations of race and racialized bodies in plays, scientific discourse, novels, slave narratives, travel narratives, children’s books, and other popular culture materials.
